Building an FAQ List to Streamline Pet Parent Communications

An FAQ, or Frequently Asked Questions, resource for your customers (pet parents) is a great way to provide information about your puppies and services. It can also help to reduce the time you spend communicating information to customers, as it allows customers to find answers to their questions quickly and easily.

A few things to keep in mind when creating an FAQ resource

  • Make sure the questions you include are relevant to your own program and commonly asked by your customers.

  • Keep the answers concise and to the point.

  • Use simple language that can be understood by everyone. Try not to use too much “technical” language that might only be understood by other dog breeders.

  • If your list is on a website, ask your designer or developer to include a search function so that users can easily find the answers they're looking for.

  • If you list is on a website, add links to other relevant pages within your website for further information.

  • Some breeders do not have a website for their program. That’s OK! There are other ways to share FAQs with your pet parents.

Here are some ways you can create this resource

  • Create a document (Word document, Canva doc, Google doc) that you can easily share with your pet parents via email or with a sharing link

  • Upload an FAQ document to the “Files” section of your Facebook Group

  • Create an FAQ post on your Facebook business page and “pin” the post so that it is easy for pet parents to find

  • Design easy-to-read graphics and post them in an “Album” titled “FAQs” on your Facebook business page or in your Facebook Group

  • Design easy-to-read graphics and use the “Story Highlights” feature to make them easy to find on your Instagram account

  • Design a free landing page in Canva and post the link in your Instagram bio

The next time a pet parent asks you a frequently asked question, you can simply point them in the direction of your FAQ list. Chances are, they will have several other questions answered in the process of reviewing your FAQs!
